Terms of Service

Last updated: 13/09/2026 — the German version is the legally authoritative one; this is provided for convenience.

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of Kiste, an inventory and lending management tool for NPOs and collectives, provided by [Dein Name oder Firmenname — Platzhalter], [Straße, Hausnummer, PLZ, Ort — Platzhalter] ([Kontakt-E-Mail für rechtliche Anfragen — Platzhalter]).

2. Service description and beta status

Kiste is currently in a free beta phase. The service is provided without guarantee of continuous availability, error-free operation, or data retention. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future; registered organisations will be notified in advance of any changes before costs apply.

3. Registration and account

Using Kiste requires creating a user account and an organisation. You must provide truthful information at signup and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account, except where caused by a security vulnerability not attributable to you.

4. Ownership of your data

Data your organisation enters into Kiste (inventory, contacts, loans, photos, etc.) remains your organisation's property. We process it solely to provide the service and do not share it with third parties except as described in the privacy policy. You may request deletion of your organisation and its data at any time.

5. User obligations

  • Do not post unlawful content or infringe third-party rights.
  • Do not abuse the platform via automated mass access or attacks.
  • Do not share credentials with unauthorised parties.
  • When managing third parties' personal data (e.g. contacts), your organisation is itself the data controller and must comply with applicable data protection law.

6. Availability and liability

During the beta phase, no specific availability is guaranteed. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and under product liability law. For minor negligence, we are liable only for breach of material contractual obligations and limited to foreseeable, typical damage. Automated backups are maintained but do not replace your own backup of particularly important data.

7. Termination

You may delete your account and organisation at any time via Settings or by contacting us. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, particularly when transitioning from beta to paid plans. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app.

9. Governing law

German law applies.
